A bit about me as a teacher...
I've been teaching private lessons for 8 years now and love to see people of all ages progress with their passion for music. My favorite students are the ones that have passion and drive to do the best they can do.  Practice is definitely part of the package, as that is how we really learn a skill its best.  I have studied music in an array of places.  I have studied in "the real world" as director of a couple music projects (Pamela Parker Band and Roots A'Risin'), on big and small stages, at festivals and giving workshops "Color My World Music"; at universities studying theoretical and classical ways of music, from being in jazz ensemble and combo to classical lessons doing Beethoven and Chopin on the piano and guitar  to singing opera with the orchestra.  My credits are bachelor's degree in Commercial Music (Production and Recording), and an associates degree in Vocal Performance.  I can teach every step from learning an instrument to producing a real music product for sale and the processes for success involved in that journey. At Shenandoah my major discipline was classical voice. I also minored in classical and jazz guitar and piano. My favorite times were jazz combo and singing with the orchestra for different classical vocal solos. I got to play piano with some great musicians and people.  Before I went to Shenandoah, I studied Vocal Performance at Montgomery College. After having a baby at age 22, it was time to get serious in school and chill in one spot to raise my little love.  I teach in various places as I travel each year to the East coast and live on the West coast in the San Francisco bay area.  Please feel free to contact me for further information and scheduling.  I do regular lessons in the Bay Area and drop in lessons on the East Coast.  E-mail me at Pam@PamelaParkerMusic.com

Blessed Be

Pamela

Thoughts on lessons...

Must go...

I am happy to be moving on in my life, but sad to leave such great people...my students have all come a long way since we've started.  The Vogel kids, Zach and Evan, even have their own band called the Diesel Pigeons (www.myspace.com/dieselpigeons).  They have great spirit and I believe they can take it all the way if they really practice and work hard enough.

That is just one example of how interesting it gets as a teacher, and I love it.  I love to see these kids grow and flower into good musicians.  Keep Practicing!!!
