From the East coast to the West coast even someone from Japan is on the record.  This is a compilation of 2 years of work originally started as a fan-requested acoustic album from fans who saw Roots A'Risin' playing around the East coast network.  People were saying they just wanted to hear me stripped down with one other instrument.  Well, I started it out that way, but being in the field of music production, loving to sing harmonies and as a sound engineer it was hard to stop at just that.  This record has already gotten rave reviews from many.  It has even been compared to the likes of Nick Drake!  Imagine that...I am very excited to present this work of art to everyone around the world in the hopes it will inspire positive vibrations, acts of kindness and dreams coming true.  Amazing guest musicians include:  Bobby Lee Rodgers of the Codetalkers, Norwood Fisher of Fishbone & Trulio Disgracias, Dave Shul of Michael Franti & Spearhead, Jordan Feinstein of The Ritual, Yari Mander of Gamelan X, Mark Calderone, Yoshi Ikeda, Daniel Parker & Ben Krames (Jungle Shack Studios). Click here to buy the new record now!!!

As for this summer, amazing things have happened and more to come.  I played at the Harmony Festival in Northern California with my solo band, back East at some places including Nelson Ledges with the new incarnation of Roots A'Risin'.  We played the main stage before Airto and Mickey Hart Band.  It was great to eat dinner with Steve Kimock and his son John Morgan Kimock played drums with us.  Nelson Ledges is a great place to be anytime.  We also just came back from a second tour back East.  We did another great festival, Gratefulfest ,with Dark Star Orchestra headlining every night.  There is an amazing new line-up this year including memebers of The Ritual, Jordan Feinstein and John Krimstock, as well as John Morgan Kimock has been appearing on drums.  Kim Moon has also been joining us from the old school RAR crew.  Stay updated on newly added shows and join the e-mail list.

Make sure those of you who will be near Santa Cruz on Saturday, October 18th, I'll be opening for Melvin Seals and the JGB Band at the Santa Cruz Veteran's Hall.  Check out The Wheel Company website for more information and to purchase tickets.

The first episode of "The Pam Show" is slowly under way and we are looking to do some more filming soon.  We will start filming once Kim Manning get's back in town.  Completion date is set for ???...hopefully in the next 9 months.  So, watch out for the first episode featuring performances by me, Kim Manning, Jonasty, William C. Donohoe and more.  A special comedy sketch where we'll work our magic to help Kim get her 88 Chevy Van on Pimp My Ride (and believe me it really needs this blessing).  Also, featured will be the Recycle Bin, my mini-show-within-a-show that teaches you how to modify existing clothing that are not so fly anymore into magnificent garments that will turn heads at the Grammy's and make Snoop Dogg say "That's dope!". The first segment of the Recycle Bin will be "Turn That Granny Sweater Into That Nanny Sweater".  Stay tuned for updates...Love and Light
Donations are always accepted...
As I have just finished the latest album "Beautiful Day", I am in the process of promoting that and beginning to think about the World Funk Pop Rock record that has been planned to come after the mellow rock album requested by Roots A'Risin' fans that I do of my "acoustic" style songs.  Well, it turned out to be more than an "acoustic" album, and so amazing with the guests included on it.  I am working on raising money for the next full-production album to be done at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco, CA.  I am asking that people donate from $3-$3,000.  Every bit helps and just know that it took me about $30,000 to create and finish the "Beautiful Day" record from start to finish.

If you donate between $30 and $3,000, you will recieve many free gifts ranging from released CDs, live un-released CDs, special un-released live performance videos, merchandise like stickers, t-shirts, collectable posters, and even private in-home concerts when I am scheduled to be in your area.  Obviously, if you live in the San Francisco Bay area or around Washington, DC/New York City area it will be easier to do the in-home concerts sooner than later, but I am open to anyone who donates getting what they want in a timely manner.

Every dollar donated counts and means so much to me, that's why for every dollar donated I will give 10 cents to the Hearts for Kids Foundation.  www.heartsforkids.org

I had a chance to meet the founder of the Hearts for Kids Foundation, Peter, and was very taken by his story, having a daughter myself.   Peter Mbogo Kamau, following the death of his daughter from rheumatic heart disease, founded THAP in Kenya in 1992. He turned his grief to action, devoting himself full-time to helping the thousands of patients who suffer from heart defects and disease. THAP is a registered nongovernmental organization in Kenya and a tax exempt 501c3 nonprofit organization in the United States.

Kenya and East Africa have a significant number of children and youth that suffer from rheumatic heart disease due to poor living conditions and complications from rheumatic fever. A type of bacteria found in the water when left untreated can lead to rheumatic fever. Rheumatic fever results in various symptoms including sore throats, and complications of rheumatic fever can lead to rheumatic heart disease, in which the valves that regulate the flow of blood to and from the heart are destroyed.

A common treatment for rheumatic fever is an anti-malarial medication that is readily available to the public. Unfortunately, without the proper attention a sore throat may become strep throat, a much more serious infection, which left untreated leads to rheumatic heart disease and valve damage. Rheumatic heart disease, therefore, is a common serious illness in these areas. Prevention of rheumatic fever involves prompt, accurate diagnosis and effective treatment, especially for school-aged children and those living in crowded areas.

Since 1992, THAP has assisted 46 patients to undergo successful heart surgery in Kenya, India, Italy and the United States. Of the 46, more than half of those patients have been helped since 2002. The medical care that Hearts for Kids assists in providing includes pre-op diagnosis, coordinating facilities/physicians, arranging overnight and extended-stay accommodations, transportation to/from hospital facilities, and post-op care.

Another gig at The Fillmore!!!

Well, the time has come again for another show at The Fillmore.  On Saturday, December 13th, I will be performing solo in the acoustic lounge supporting Ozomatli at The Fillmore with some suprise special guests.  It seems that this is becoming a regular thing, so look out for me more and more at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA.  The last time I played there, they said they had to stop people from coming into the lounge it was so crowded.  This was great feedback and seems to be a positive shift in playing more gigs at The Fillmore.

Make sure you get your tickets soon, as Ozomatli has a reputation for selling out The Fillmore.
